Education and Advocacy for Smart Cannabis Public Policies
The Cannabis Business Council of Santa Barbara County (CBCSB) is the leading voice of cannabis farmers and business owners in the Santa Barbara region. We’re committed to working with the community to achieve smart, fair regulations that honor Santa Barbara’s agricultural history, support good jobs and economic development, and promote public safety and compliance with the law.
Calling for prompt and timely public meetings between elected leaders, policy makers, cannabis stakeholders, and the community at large to ensure collaboration and transparency during the drafting of new local cannabis regulations.
Supporting the creation of a Santa Barbara County Cannabis Commission—comprised of law enforcement, elected officials, public administrators, community leaders and education, public health, and environmental experts—to oversee local implementation of the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA) and the Medical Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MCRSA).
Driving economic development by giving cannabis farmers a stronger voice in conversations about fair labor practices, land and water use, environmental protection, and integration with local communities. We are committed to creating new jobs in local communities that are aligned with Santa Barbara County’s values, traditions and goals.
Supporting partnerships with California’s public universities that will allow Santa Barbara County to participate in scientific research breakthroughs in the use of cannabis to treat diseases.
Promoting action by Santa Barbara’s leaders to implement AUMA and MCRSA in a fair way that serves the will of the voters, supports farmers and local businesses, and promotes the wellbeing of the community at large.
